Today’s drill was filled with camaraderie, challenge, and a surprise visit that made the day even more memorable.
Starting Steady: Morning PT
The day began with a moderate Physical Training (PT) session. Nothing too intense—just enough to get hearts pumping and minds alert. Cadets ran light cardio drills and worked through team-based exercises to build endurance and cohesion. It set the right tone for the mission ahead.
Operation Daylight Shadows: Escape and Evasion
Our headline activity today was Operation Daylight Shadows, an escape and evasion game designed to simulate real-world tracking and stealth scenarios.
Cadets, divided into evaders and pursuers, worked in teams across varied terrain. Evaders used camouflage and cover while pursuers tracked with focus and discipline. The exercise reinforced communication, patience, and smart field tactics—all while keeping things fast-paced and fun.
Surprise Mid-Mission Guest: Instructor Wisniewski
Midway through the operation, cadets were caught off guard in the best way—Instructor Sebastian Wisniewski made a surprise appearance during his day job! His quick stop lifted spirits and brought smiles across the field. Even out of uniform, his commitment to the unit and his cadets showed through. It was a motivating moment and a reminder of the support system we have both on and off drill days.
Burnt Chicken, Big Thanks: Senior Sendoff Lunch
We closed the day with a relaxed BBQ lunch. The chicken was on the crispy side (we’ll just call it “well done”), but the company and occasion more than made up for it.
We honored two of our graduating cadets—PO3 Aldrin Udasco and PO3 Kelton Oneal-Rampaul—for their service, leadership, and mentorship. Their contributions to the unit will be missed, and their next chapters eagerly watched.
BZ to All—Next Stop, More Growth
Today was a success in every sense: steady training, tactical experience, meaningful recognition, and a surprise morale boost. The road ahead is full of opportunity—see you at the next drill!
